Roof trusses

The service in detail

The roof truss is the structural backbone of every roof – and the heart of our trade as master carpenters.

Whether a classic rafter or purlin truss, modern prefab trusses or the renovation of a historic roof structure: we plan, cut and assemble load-bearing timber structures you can rely on for a lifetime. Every joint is made with the precision and care a master workshop demands.

We build roof trusses in Mertert, Wasserbillig, Grevenmacher, Echternach, Remich, Junglinster and Luxembourg City – and everywhere in between. From the first measurement to the last rafter, everything stays in one hand, with a single point of contact and honest advice.

The finished roof covering is handled, if you wish, by our sister company Blang & Lauterbach. That way you get roof and timberwork from one reliable source – seamlessly coordinated, from the truss to the very last tile.

Variants & options

New roof trusses – traditional & prefab

We build new roof trusses in both techniques: the classic, hand-cut carpenter's truss as well as the industrially prefabricated truss with nail-plate connectors. Which one suits your project depends on the architecture, span and budget – and we advise you honestly.

  • Traditional joinery with carpenter's joints
  • Prefab nail-plate trusses for wide spans
  • Rafter, purlin and collar-beam roofs
  • Solid timber and engineered timber (KVH/glulam)
  • Precise shop drawings before every cut

Roof-truss renovation

Old roof trusses often suffer from moisture, wood-boring insects or simply age. We inspect the existing structure, replace damaged timbers properly and strengthen the framework – without needlessly tearing down your whole roof. Load-bearing capacity is secured for decades to come.

  • On-site inspection and damage assessment
  • Replacement of rafters, purlins and beam ends
  • Reinforcement and structural upgrading
  • Treatment against fungal and insect attack
  • Preserving historic fabric wherever possible

Dormers

A dormer brings light, headroom and living space into your roof. We design and fit pitched-roof, gable and flat-roof dormers precisely into your truss – cleanly integrated into the structure and fully prepared for the covering that follows.

  • Pitched-roof, gable and flat-roof dormers
  • Made to measure and built into the truss
  • More living space and daylight in the loft
  • Prepared for covering by Blang & Lauterbach

Frequently asked questions

The cost depends on the roof shape, span, timber type and technique – a small rafter truss sits well below a large structure. After an on-site measurement you receive a clear, free quote with no hidden items.
